Seminar series & season’s greetings

Once again, a big thank you to all speakers of our autumn seminar series for their fantastic contributions, ranging from an overview of our BSNCN project (Malin Olofsson & Hanna Farnelid), to the impact of infauna on benthic N-cycling (Stefano Bonaglia), N-fixation beyond the tropics (Mar Benavides) and N-fixation done by heterotrophs (Lasse Riemann), N-cycling in coastal areas (Maren Voss), and insights into HELCOM work on N-management (Lotta Ruokanen & Vivi Fleming).

The seminars were followed by 40-60 participants, which surpassed our expectations and made us very happy! We were especially happy to see both familiar and new faces from both senior and early career research stages in the participants’ crowd, giving a representative mix of the Baltic Sea N-community.

We will continue with the seminar series on 13th February 2025. Already confirmed speakers include Mike Jetten, Damian Arévalo-Martinez, and Laura Bristow; more information on the full program coming soon.

For now, we thank everyone interested in the BSNCN project for their support and engagement, and we wish you all a very merry Christmas and a great start into the New Year! See you in February for the seminars!
